Gentle Flow Yoga Classes


The Brussels Yoga Loft developed the Gentle Flow Yoga Classes especially for complete beginners to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. This yoga class is unique. It will boost your energy level, reduce stress, and make your body healthier whilst reducing the impact from certain asanas. This is also suitable for people with temporary or permanent physical limitations. It will also help you get acquainted with the asanas and the principles of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga in a gradual and relaxed way focusing on alignment, breathing and flow.

Rejuvenation Yoga Classes


Restore, renew and enter a state of relaxation with this yoga class geared towards the needs of the body and adapted to the rhythm of the season. Drawing on the ancient traditions of yoga, Chinese medicine and imagery, we will use specific asanas as well asbreathing techniques to clear unwanted stress in the body. This is a class that will leave you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and quite simply back to yourself. Each yoga class is different, depending on the energy of the students and adjusted to the 5 elemental seasons of the year. What remains the same is that each person will find their way back to themselves.

Mindful Flow Yoga Classes


New at the Brussels Yoga Loft arethe Mindful Flow classes. A mindful flow seamlessly connects from one pose to another. There will be a new sequence every week with a different focus combining both ashtanga and yin inspired asanas and sequences. The joining – inherent to yoga – of the different style sis what makes this class a unique experience. Each class brings a balance between developing strength and flexibility.

Yin with Crystal Sound Bowl Bath


The first part of the class is a deliciously relaxing and deep stretching yin yoga class. Yin yoga works the deeper yin connective tissues of ligaments, joints, fascial networks and bones. In this way, all of our tissues are exercised. Yin yoga, like yang, provides optimum physical health, mental and emotional balance, and increased energy. Practiced together with meditation, and types of yoga (ashtanga and others) and also mindfulness meditation practices, there can be an extraordinary synchronisation of body and mind, leading to a complete life transformation.

In the second half of our class relax in shavasana as you absorb the pure sounds of the music of alchemy crystal bowls. These rare and beautiful instruments give you the opportunity to direct your healing intentions to whatever sphere you need: emotional, physical, spiritual. Effortlessly mixing this clear resonance with body and intention can produce very deep levels of relaxation and healing. Crystal sound bowl healing is highly recommended for those experience the stress of daily life, to find deep relaxation and a new sense of clarity, like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders.

Kids Yoga


A regular yoga practice helps to counter the stress children experience as well as being hugely beneficial for encouraging self-confidence, body awareness, concentration and focus. Physically, it develops children’s flexibility, strength and brain-body coordination. By teaching techniques for breathing, mindfulness, relaxation, self-calming and positive attitude, we can equip children with important tools for which to deal with the stress of living in a chaotic world of constant stimulation.

Kids Yoga brings all the advantages of movement, mindfulness and meditation to children in a fun and engaging way. Every class offers a complete Yoga practice. It includes stretching and strengthening poses, relaxation techniques, breathing instruction as well as music, games, and imagination. Children will be singing, dancing, skipping, marching, jogging, shaking, laughing, hopping, limbo-ing, and storytelling ALL while practicing Yoga to music.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Classes


An important guideline for our classes is the Ashtanga Vinyasa sequence designed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India to open the body and awaken the spirit. The focus is on synchronization of breath with continuous flow of movement and supported or strengthened by the bandhas. A vigorous practice that builds heat, endurance, flexibility, strength and alsomental focus. Empower yourself and gain mental clarity while enhancing core strength and flexibility.

Ashtanga First Series Short Classes


The Ashtanga 1st Series (short) – previously called the “Modified Primary Series” is based on the Full Primary Series designed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and made accessible to all. The class begins with sun salutations, standing poses and balancing asanas, and finishes with seated forward-folds, twists, backbends and inversions. The primary focus is physical cleansing, synchronization of breath and movement. This class is open to practitioners of all levels and offers easy to learn modifications depending on the level of the individual.

Full Primary Series Classes


Experience the full primary series sequence of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, offering further asanas to enhance and round out the Primary Series practice. We would not recommend this class for those with little or no yoga experience. It is a very fast paced class that includes arm balancing, back bends, and also a few inversions. It builds endurance and breath. Modifications are possible for all poses in case you may need them.

Vinyasa Rocket Yoga Classes


A Vinyasa Yoga Class for yoga students who are ready for more challenges and asanas from the second and third series of Ashtanga.

Yin Classes


Yin Yoga is a great compliment to Ashtanga. It directs the stimulation deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues and targets connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones and joints with the aim of increasing circulation and improving flexibility. It will also work deeper muscles that normally are not exercised much in amore active style practice. Everyone is welcome!

Prenatal Yoga Classes


Prepare for the mental and physical aspects of childbirth with our prenatal yoga class. This class provides and environment for pregnant women to learn breathing and relaxation techniques, as well as strengthening exercises for where the body will need to be strong. This class will also help improve balance, circulation and toning with postures modified for the needs of each trimester. Create those surges of prana (breathe life force and energy) for yourself as well asfor your baby. Get to know other expectant mothers, create your own community and learn relaxation techniques. All aspects of the yoga practice that will take you far beyond pregnancy.

Postnatal Yoga Classes


Heal and rejuvenate your body and develop a sense of peace of mind. Post-natal yoga is just as important as prenatal yoga. It brings the body into shape by rebuilding core strength and relieving neck and shoulder tension, while putting internal organs back in place. This class may contribute to a calmer mother, a more serene environment, as well as a healthier and stronger woman. The result of all of that is a healthier and happier baby.

Community Meditation Classes


Our Meditation classes focus on Relaxation for body & mind.The introduction to meditation comprises clear instructions based on a 2,600-year tradition, an unbroken lineage going back to Buddha Shakyamuni.

First we will introduce you to the view or understanding of the practice. What problems and challenges do we face in our lives? How does meditation work to address these issues? What good results can you expect to achieve through the practice? Then we move on to practical meditation instruction which introduces working with body, breath and thoughts. We practice together for short periods, interspersed with group discussion, which helps to clarify our meditation experience. Finally we discuss how to bring meditation into daily life. The results for those who stick with it is a wonderful change in your life path.

Every meditation session ends with a deliciously relaxing and rejuvenating Crystal Sound Bowl Bath. In seconds you will be immersed in waves of enchanting sounds that help to wash away negative, stressful thoughts and feelings. You will feel a new sense of clarity, like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders.
